Quick Steppin' Down The Stairs

Minus one fallen star, last night's Dancing With the Stars was a show chock full of improved dancing and commercial breaks.

First up was Mel B (Scary Spice) and her partner Maks (hot hot). They took on the quick step and scored one point lower from the judges this week over last week's cha cha. They did fairly well and they received a combined score from the judges of 23 out of 30. Mark Cuban and Kym were up next with the mambo. I thought he was trying much harder this week but they only squeezed sixes out of the judges receiving an 18 out of 30.

Wayne Newton and Cheryl were next up on the dance floor with their quick step. They danced to a version of Elvis' 'Viva Las Vegas'. While not being the weirdest musical choice of the night, why did Wayne lip sync the entire song while he was dancing? Strange. They received triple 5s for a 15 out of 30. Marie Osmond and her partner Jonathan really stepped things up this week with their mambo. I didn't like Marie last week but I have to hand it to her this week. They did a great job and received triple 8s for a 24 out of 30.

Albert and Anna quick stepped to '99 Red Balloons' and didn't do quite as well as last week. The judges missed his personality and scored them triple 7s for a 21 out of 30. Helio and Julianne were next with their mambo. Wow! You would have thought they'd been dancing forever because they were so great as dancing partners. The judges loved them and gave them triple 9s for a 27 out of 30.

Jennie and Derek did the quick step and she just still looked so uncomfortable out there on the dance floor. Uncomfortable as in afraid to really get close to him. It didn't make her look any better that in her pre-dance clip she's shown laughing at Derek because she can't view him as a manly man. It made me laugh a little on the inside then when Derek missed catching her at the end because of her dress and she fell. Boy was she pissed. I could almost see steam coming out of her ears when they were standing in front of the judges. They didn't score as bad as they could have though. They received triple 7s for a 21 out of 30.

Cameron and Edyta were up next with their mambo. I really liked Edyta's dress and thought they did a very pretty but very sexy dance. The judges didn't like it as much as I did though and gave out yet another triple 7 score. Floyd and Karina were next with their quick step and were kinda stiff. The judges gave them another triple 7 score.

Jane and Tony danced their mambo next. I thought it was good but extremely boring. The judges thought it was boring too and gave them another triple 7 for a 21 out of 30. The last dance of the night belonged to Sabrina and Mark. Their quick step was very nice. It was classy and snappy with nary a hip-hop move included. The judges loved it and scored them the second highest score of the night with a 9-8-9 for a 26 out of 30.

I really like Wayne but it's his time to go tonight. It will probably be between Wayne and Mark Cuban going home to their mansions. The results show is tonight on ABC at 9:00 PM ET.

Does anybody else think that Brad, The Bachelor was hotter this week than the last? Anyway, last night the girls (except for one) went on their first group dates with Brad. In each group date Brad would be giving one lucky lady a rose giving them the chance to stick around for another round.

The first group of ladies went to the horse races. How fun. In the middle of the horse date, Brad received a call from Michele who was back at the house waiting for the next date. Poor thing. She'd fallen down the stairs and received a slight concussion. You would have thought she'd at least have a broken bone or something the way they acted on the show. Ambulance, back board, neck brace, strapped in so she couldn't move. Puhlease. Back to the races.

I literally laughed out loud when, after that kinda kiss with McCarten, Brad confessed "it wasn't very good." Ahhh, DeAnna gets Brad's rose. How romantic.

Back at the mansion, after a short and awkward conversation with the concussed Michele, Brad and the other group of girls took off for their beach date in Malibu. Stephy practically stripped Brad's shirt off. Solisa had Brad take body shots off of her. Jenni kissed Brad - a lot! Back at the house, the girls go on the hunt for Jenni's modeling portfolio. They found it and thumbed through it remarking how somebody would only bring that if they were there to advance their career. Very snarky girls! Snarky indeed.

Back at the beach, Brad gives Sarah the rose and Jenni's broken-hearted about it. I guess all of her smooching didn't do her much good after all? Later in the evening, Solisa takes her top off and goes for a dip in the ocean only to find that Brad stayed behind in the hot tub. That was funny!

It's time for the rose ceremony. He has 10 roses to hand out. DeAnna and Sarah are staying because they had received their rose already on their group dates. Three ladies are leaving. See ya Michele, Erin, and Mallory!

Oh, hope your head feels better Michele!

I have to agree with you HD, I think it should be Mark or Wayne going home tonight. But I don't think the voting public will do that to Wayne just yet. I could be wrong. I think it may be Mark and Albert in the bottom two tonight, with Mark going home. I think Albert has such a shinning personality, but I don't think the judges or the public will give him much of a chance for much longer unless he really steps it up!
My favs., Helio, Cameron, Floyd and Jenny did just okay with the exception of Helio. He was awesome. Floyd still looks as if he is in a boxing ring and I still think Cameron should loosen up and AMC needs to put him in a coma for awhile so he can dance. (And if you have seen his character on AMC lately, there is no good storyline, so a coma would be fine!)
God, how good are that brother and sister, Julianne and Derek?? Oh, to be young again!!
I never would have thought that Jenny was such a prude! She sure came across as one last night on their film clip. You are absolutely right HD, I think I saw steam coming from the top of her head!!
I am not a Marie Osmond fan but was impressed with her last night. Not a Sabrina fan either, but she was very good. Jane is not a contender either, but she is a class act!
Good show all in all...

I just read the article from the jimmie Kimmel show, Im so glad she was the first to leave. The comments she made were just uncalled for. Thank you for all your time spent. I have an 11 month old who doesnt always let me watch tv, and I know that if I miss something I can always catch up by going to you site.

I have always been a fan of Helio, but im very surprised at how well he handles himself on the floor. I think he will do very well and hopefully his fan base will stick with him.

Hi HD-
Agree with everything, especially your comments about Solisa's nighttime skinny dip that failed. How humiliating!

I have one question though... who was it that made a point of telling Brad that she's a Christian lady and doesn't do a lot of stuff? Was that Solisa? I'm really confused.

I think a woman will get voted out tonight -- Jenny or Mel -- not because they were the worse, but back to my theory that women vote and they vote for men! However, I hope Wayne goes soon because he is creeping me out. My favorite team is Helio and Juliane. She's a great dancer and choreographer and he's a quick learner with some natural talent.

As for The Bachelor, is it just me or do the women get bolder and more forward every season?

Disaster has struck here. My local TV station is no longer showing ANTM or Beauty and the Geek. I have already written to them to complain, but surprisingly, they were not impressed.

All I know is when I watch Mark Cuban I smile and cheer out loud.
He is such fun to watch!
He seems to be the most geniune contestant in there.
I thought he did great last night.
I cannot believe the judges scored him so low.

I voted for him alot, I hope he stays.

I also felt that way about Marie Osmond last night.
Shes has such positive energy, and it makes watching her fun.
She also did a great job last night with a hard routine.

I REALLY want to like Wayne Newton.
But honestly he is bad.
I feel bad for Cheryl. She will be bummed if she goes home this early.
He did improve, but he needs to be better.
He may stick around bc of his fanbase.
I threw him a vote bc I like him and want to see if he can improve.

How is it that its so hard for Jennie Garth to see her partner as hot?
Hes young but hes gorgeous.
I like her, but she does need to loosen up.
I felt badly that he tripped.
I guess it shows that even the pros are human too.

Speaking of hot, how hot is Cameron??

I think the song that the couples are given makes a HUGE impact on the overall dance.
Is it just me, or if a song comes on that you dont like, are you sort of turned off to the dance?

Like 99 Red Balloons, not my fave song at all, and I just could not get past it and enjoy that dance.

Its not really fair.
I think the pros should pick the songs bc they are chereographing it, so only fair they should pick the song.

Sometimes it seems an odd choice which does not fit with the dance style, (ie Billy Joel's Uptown Girl last week for Jennie and Derrek's LATIN round? When you are doing a Latin Dance do you expect to hear Billy Joel???)
Just odd.
I think its the X factor that makes more of a difference then is recognized, and it should change so the pros can pick the songs.

Just my 2 cents......

That was indeed Solisa that said she was a Christian with morals and values. She is quite confusing to me. LOL

Brad is Hot Hot Hot. Some of these girls are something else. I can't let my son watch this show with me anymore since it is getting so out there. I want him to keep some morals and values.

I can't wait to see what they do next week. I won't get to see it till I return from Dallas on the 15th.
